God has blessed
me with a wonderful family. My wife and I celebrated our 25th
anniversary this year. Our two oldest children are out on
their own. Christen is married and David is the successful
young businessman. Above is a picture of me with my youngest
son Ben. He is playing my first electric guitar. We are sitting
on a bench across the street from my parents home on the Ohio
River.
My family and
I have been part of Vineyard
Columbus
for over 10 years. It has been great to be part of an active,
growing church. There are tons of talented musicians there
who have been a great source of inspiration, encouragement
and friendship.
Twice in recent
years, I have spent a weekend at Fur
Peace Ranch
near Pomeroy, Ohio. It's run by Jorma Kaukonen of Jefferson
Airplane/Hot Tuna fame - or I should say it's run by Jorma's
wife, Vanessa and her sister Ginger. Jorma has the enviable
job of teaching guitar and hanging out with fellow guitar
fanatics. It's a great time to kick back and learn some acoustic
blues. Basic blues structure underlies most forms of pop music,
so I use this as a time to get back to basics...while picking
up a few new tricks. I have written accounts of both my visits
there. Check
it out.
